Dance with hoop. That's Hula Hoop.
Do you think you don’t have a dance talent and the word “dance” scares you? Or can’t you even imagine how you can dance with a hoop? Don’t look for science in that :-). Hoop dancing is about freedom, playfulness of movement and especially imagination and one’s own uniqueness.
You don’t need to know any dance steps in hooping, nor do you have to be a “snake woman”. You also practically don’t need a musical ear for that either. The only thing that hoop dancing requires is relaxation and knowledge of a few basic exercises and tricks that you will be able to follow intuitively. Learn to so-called “merge with the current”!
Play your favorite music, relax and imagine that you are again a small child who is absolutely unrestrained, nobody sees, criticizes or evaluates him.
Start circling at the waist and for a start you can only slowly turn the wheel in the direction of the hoop. Or enjoy the circling itself and listen to the song. You can also imagine that your arms are waves at sea and move freely with them as you think. Then imagine that your hands are large brushes with which you can draw around you what comes to mind (waves, fine lines, hearts, wheels, eights,…).
Engage your intuition by stopping to think about the movements and letting the body do whatever comes to mind. And lo and behold, you’re dancing with a hoop!
